Setting Up Different Email Domain Configurations

How to fully utilize Brokerkit's email features

The table below is a valuable resource to guide you in selecting the most effective email strategy for sending bulk communications or campaigns, ultimately enhancing your email deliverability rates. The table details different email configurations available and the pros and cons of them.

Scenario Description Pros/Cons
Branded email sending domain that matches your Google or Microsoft email account
  • This is the optimal solution
  • This requires that you own your email domain (the part after the @sign), it is used by your Google or Microsoft email account, and you have access to edit the DNS settings where it is hosted (e.g. Godaddy).
  • No matter the structure of your brokerage—whether it is part of a franchise, independent, company-owned, virtual, or hybrid—if you have a personalized domain for your brokerage, you can follow the steps provided here.
  • If you have been using a free email (e.g. gmail.com) or a franchise email (e.g. kw.com) the easiest way to to do this is create a Google Workspace account here with your new domain (e.g kwcolorado.com vs. kw.com).

Pros:

  • The best situation for email deliverability
  • You can SSO (single sign on to your Google/Microsoft account)

Cons:

  • More complex to set up than other options.
Sending via clients.getbrokerkit.com on behalf of your email
  • Applicable for:
    • You have a Google or Microsoft free email account
    • You are using a Google/Microsoft email account for a franchise (e.g. kw.com) and you don't have a separate domain
  • While sending a bulk or campaign email. In the From dropdown, select your email "firstname@kw.com" as the sender for your bulk or campaign email.

Pros:

  • You can still use your email even without your domain verified
  • You can use a franchise or free email account

Cons:

  • Emailing limits are lowered
  • The deliverability is potentially lower than a branded domain
  • The receipt will see you sent on behalf of brokerkit instead of your domain
Logging in via magic link or password (not Google or Microsoft SSO)
  • You use an email address not tied to a Google or Microsoft account. This could be because:
    • You don't have a Google/Microsoft account
    • You want to use a different email in Brokerkit for recruiting campaigns.
  • In the login page towards the bottom, under the Google and Microsoft buttons, enter the email into the field, click next
  • Set a password or choose the magic link to sign in
  • After you have been successfully logged in via password or magic link into your Brokerkit. When sending a bulk or campaign email. In the From dropdown, select marketing@kwdistance.com as the sender for your bulk or campaign email.
  • Take note you will have to get the domain kwdistance.com verified first, follow the steps here
  • You can then add an alias on your main kw.com for marketing@kwcolorado.com to get replies in your main Google/Microsoft email

Pros:

  • Can use several emails to prospect new leads or reach out to your own team with specific emails

Cons:

  • you will not be able to send emails or appointments via the contact profile since those require Google or Microsoft SSO
Additional user on a different sending domain for sending bulk/campaign emails
  • This is similar to the variation above, but here you have a separate Brokerkit user who has a totally different email domain which you set up just to send bulk/campaign emails to preserve your email sending domains
  • In this scenario, you:
    • use your main Google/Microsoft email address to login and do 1 on 1 communications (e.g. bob@kw.com)
    • add another user with a different domain (e.g. recruiting@kwcolorado.com) and use this for bulk/campaign emails.
  • You will login via username/password or magic link vs. SSO since the second user is not a Google Microsoft account
  • You will need an alias or forwarding rule in Google/Microsoft to get your email replies.

Pros

  • You can use your main Google/Microsoft email for SSO and 1 on 1 communications
  • Reduced risk of having email sender reputation issues on your main domain

Cons:

  • Need to buy an additional seat for bulk/campaign mails sending
  • Can't SSO with secondary user
  • Can't send emails/appointments via contact profile as requires SSO.
